Pork and Apple Pie

A long-standing favourite. Use good quality pork for the best flavour.

Ingredients:

Home made shortcrust pastry to line and top a pie dish
2 lbs. pork (1/2 inch cubes)
1 large onion (chopped)
2 large tart apples (peel, core and slice)
4 tbs. Butter
2 tsp. Sage
2 garlic cloves (mince)
pepper

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350F

Line a pie pan with the home-made pastry.

Melt the butter in a large frying pan and add the pork and garlic.

When the meat has turned a nice golden brown colour pour the meat and garlic into the lined pie dish.

Season with pepper, sage and onions.

Arrange the sliced apples on the top of the pie and dot with butter. Cover the finished pie with the remaining pastry.

Bake for 40-45 mins or until golden brown.
