In 1988, a group of English Civil War re-enactors decided to bring a new dimension and authenticity to the portrayal of English 17th century life and The Siege Group was born. We re-enact real history, role-playing actual characters and events. We stage events in various parts of England and we are always on the look-out for new members and venues.

Ready ... Aim ... Fire! Musketeers fire a salvo at the enemyThe campaign tent at playWe portray not only soldiers, but civilians too - ranging from peasants to nobility, traders to maids. Even a peddler may be found. The result is a real taste of Civil War life.

Our 'living camp' re-creates the lives of the members of a travelling army. There are authentic tents and furniture, while cauldrons simmer over the camp fire cooking the food which would actually have been on the menu. When the call to arms comes we have a range of weapons at our disposal, from muskets and cannon to hand weapons such as pikes and swords.
